Privacy policy
The short version: your robots.txt never leaves your browser, and we collect as little as a website reasonably can.
The short version
CrawlCheck's tools run entirely in your browser. The robots.txt you paste is never uploaded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not set advertising cookies.
What we collect
Tool input — nothing leaves your device. The Auditor, Generator and Schema tools process your robots.txt with client-side JavaScript. Your content stays on your machine.
Server and CDN logs. The site is served through Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy and are not used by us for profiling.
Cookie-free analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not collect personal information.
Email, only if you give it. If you subscribe to updates, we store your email address for that purpose only. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.
What we never do
We never sell, rent, or trade personal data. We never share it with advertising networks. We never embed third-party scripts that follow you across the web.
Cookies
CrawlCheck sets no cookies of its own. If that ever changes — for example to remember a tool preference — this page will be updated first.
Third-party links
Some pages link to external resources such as GitHub. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave crawlcheck.dev.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you (normally: nothing beyond an email address, if you subscribed) or ask for it to be deleted. Write to hi@crawlcheck.dev and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and change the effective date below. If we ever run advertising, this policy will disclose the ad partners and any cookies they set before that happens.
